PURA VIDA!
My trip to Costa Rica during spring break of 2013 was the greatest experience of my short 17 years of life. I am so lucky to say that I had that opportunity, and if anyone you know, or yourself, is on the edge about taking a trip like this, DO IT!
I was able to go on this trip with my high school Spanish Club. We had the time of our lives. We stayed at the most beautiful hotels, ate at delicious restaurants, and swam in the clearest of blue water. In the picture below, we were able to meet the locals who stay in this town, where they live right underneath an active volcano! The view was incredible.
It is absolutely amazing to me how different their lives are there compared to ours. Almost no roads are paved and the grocery stores do not carry any of the brands we're used to seeing. Even their capital and biggest city, San Jose, has a very small airport. The people in Costa Rica make sure the rainforest and exotic animals there are kept safe.
And remember.. PURA VIDA!

This trip took me out of my comfort zone in ways that I would do again in a heartbeat now. I tried many strange foods (and liked some of them). I used my Spanish skills in the real world. I ziplined miles and miles, while hundreds of feet above the canopy of the rainforest. I hope that one day everyone can have an adventure like this.
And remember.. PURA VIDA!
