Hats Off, I'm Graduated!

Well, I have finally done it. As of now, I am officially graduated and (supposed to be) ready to start my life outside of high school. I did have a fantastic time in the last four years, but I am more than ready to start something new. On August 30th, I will be moving into my dorm at Michigan State University and beginning a completely new experience.

I learned a lot in high school. I really did. But, that's not saying that it did not take a lot of work. In fact, not only did it take work, but it also took...
1. sleep deprivation.
2. challenging myself.
3. forgetting dinner because of the endless amounts of homework.
4. stressful leadership positions.
5. and EVEN MORE WORK.

I promise I'm not trying to scare you if you haven't reached high school yet. Just remember, only take on as much as you can handle. High school is an incredible experience and there will be nothing like it. Don't stress yourself out (like I did), but at the same time, don't sell yourself out. You can accomplish so many great things.

If you want to be successful though, try to do these...
1. Keep your grades up- when you apply for colleges, your transcript is one of the top things they look at. Your high grades also make you WAY more eligible for scholarships.
2. Find a leadership position- colleges love seeing a student in a leadership position. But, it also allows you to be close to some teachers in the school and this is very important for letters of recommendation.
3. Take AP classes- these classes, if you score high enough on the exam, are worth college credit. They save you money, while giving you many study skills and even if you don't pass the exam, you have background knowledge of the material for when you take the class in college.
4. Be positive- be someone that your classmates look up to. Be someone that says 'hi' and smiles in the hallway. It'll make your time in high school 1000x better.

And, soon enough, you'll be throwing your cap in the air.
