Week Two in Costa Rica
Hola from Costa Rica!
A day and a half later, I started my first day at Conversa, a Spanish language school located in Santa Ana- a small, urban city about half an hour outside of San José. The school was founded in the 1970s and has been hosting students ever since. I take a bus up to campus during the week from downtown Santa Ana, where my host family lives. I spend the day learning grammar, playing language games, and of course, speaking lots of Spanish!
First, I want to apologize for posting my "Week Two in Costa Rica" during my actual "Week Seven". Upon starting this adventure, I had no idea how little free time I would have and I (very sadly) had to put my blog posts on the back-burner. That being said, I'm still just as excited to share with you what has happened the past almost month and a half here in Costa Rica!
I have to say- the plane ride down here was definitely an adventure on its own. Three and half hour flight delay from Grand Rapids, MI to Atlanta, GA (due to a snow storm in Atlanta where, when we arrived, I saw no snow) is not a great way to start out your study abroad. Nevertheless, I managed to catch my connecting flight with only a quick jog through the airport being necessary.

The Conversa campus hosts amazing views, a warm swimming pool, and toucans nestled in the trees. It's a phenomenal place and I can see (well, hear) my Spanish improving by the day. I can't wait to take these skills into my last two months in this beautiful country and support a community in their path to betterment (more about this to come).
Well, that's an update on how my first two weeks in Costa Rica played out! Be on the lookout for more pictures as I travel around the country and tell what I've learned about the people and this place they call home.
Stay Beautiful,
Sadie
