I Live With Trichtillomania

I shared the following post on my social media on May 31, 2022. I'm hoping to talk more about this condition that I live with every day in order to help others. Hi. If you didn't know, May is Mental Health Month. So, I'd like to share something today.

I live with trichotillomania (TTM). I pull out my eyebrows as a way to deal with stress and anxiety.

200,000 people are diagnosed with TTM per year in the U.S. Yet, I didn't know anything about it until it happened to me about 5 years ago.

Both of the pictures below are me. One without make-up and one with.

I wanted to share this today because it's hard to remember that you're not alone. But you aren't. No matter what you may be dealing with. Reach out to someone you trust. See a therapist. Those are just 2 things that have helped me immensely over the last year.

Healing isn't linear though. I have good days and bad ones, but I'm learning to manage better every day. And I consider that a win.

So, Happy #MentalHealthMonth! Reach out if you want to talk.

Stay Beautiful (because you are!),
Sadie
